The religious situation
Most people in Berlin consider themselves atheists even many of those who are members of the state churches. A local newspaper reported that almost sixty percent of all people in Berlin have abandoned religion completely. There are only a handful of evangelical churches making the gospel available to the lost.
The situation of population
There are more than 3.5 Million people living in Berlin which is one and a half times as much as the federal state of Brandenburg that surrounds Berlin or half of the population of Switzerland. The population in Berlin continues to grow and is estimated to increase by 10% by the year 2030.
Diversity of cultures
Berlin has developed into a melting pot of cultures over the course of the last decade. According to another report people from 185 different nationalities are now living in Berlin. Our mission here has now become a world mission reaching people with the gospel that goes far and beyond the borders of Germany.
The situation of economy
Prices for real estate and rent have been skyrocketing in recent years. According to a rental index the prices have increased about 65 percent just in the last few years. As a result it's become increasingly difficult to find facilities for churches that are affordable.
What is therefore the goal?
It is our goal to plant another bible-believing church in another district of East Berlin to fulfill our Lords command of making disciples of all nations. Considering the widespread atheism, the increasing population, and a clash of cultures desperately in need of hope it seemed good to us to reach out to them with the one who is true and who’s name is the God of hope.

Die religiöse Situation
In Berlin bezeichnen sich die meisten Menschen als Atheisten, selbst viele derjenigen, die auf dem Papier noch Kirchen angehören und Kirchensteuern bezahlen. In einer Zeitung hieß es, dass fast sechzig Prozent der Berliner konfessionslos sind. Außerdem gibt es kaum bis sehr wenige evangelikale Gemeinden in der deutschen Hauptstadt.
Die Situation der Bevölkerung
Die Bevölkerung Berlins wird auf mehr als 3,5 Millionen Menschen geschätzt. Es wohnen also eineinhalb mal so viele Menschen in Berlin wie in ganz Brandenburg bzw. halb so viele Menschen wie in der ganzen Schweiz. Die Bevölkerung Berlins befindet sich im Wachstum, sie wird bis zum Jahr 2030 um ganze zehn Prozent zunehmen.
Die Vielfalt der Kulturen
Berlin hat sich in den letzten Jahrzehnten zu einem Schmelztiegel der Kulturen entwickelt. Weiteren Berichte zufolge leben hier Menschen aus 185 verschiedenen Nationen zusammen. Das ist Weltmission direkt vor unserer Haustür.
Die wirtschaftliche Situation:
Die Preise für Immobilien und Mieten in Berlin sind in den letzten Jahren enorm gestiegen. Der „Mietspiegel Berlin“ zeigt einen Anstieg der Mietpreise von bis zu 65% in den letzten Jahren. Es wird also immer schwieriger sein, als große Gemeinde mit eigenen Räumlichkeiten zu existieren.
Was ist daher unser Ziel?
Unser Ziel ist es, dass in einem anderen Stadtteil eine weitere Gemeinde entsteht, die Gott anbetet, das Wort Gottes auslegend predigt, Menschen erreicht und zu Jüngern zurüstet. Angesichts der großen Gottlosigkeit, der wachsenden Anzahl der Menschen und der hohen Kosten für große Räumlichkeiten erscheint es uns als eine gute Strategie, auf diese Art das Reich Gottes weiter in der Stadt auszubreiten.
